Volunteer Coordinator Assistant 

This year we are recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator Assistant (VCA), specifically for the TULCA Festival Gallery. The internship is approximately 2 Months in duration (October – November).

As a VCA, you are the first point of contact for our public, in charge of  supervising the works and venue, this is one one of the most important duties during the Festival.  You will be working closely with the Volunteer Coordinator on a part time basis in October and a full time basis in November.

We are looking for one person to fulfill this role, preferably with an interest or background within the Visual Arts, Arts Policy, Cultural Management, Art History or equivalent.

Duties to include:

    • Working in close relation with the Volunteer Coordinator & Producer
    • Being knowledgeable about the current exhibition and providing information required about the Festival, the Curator, the Artists and the Concept of the Festival
    • Invigilating and supervising the gallery space to ensure the safety of the works
    • Monitoring the Incoming & Outgoing of Volunteers, School Groups & Tours
    • Directing queries (where applicable) to relevant staff members
    • Assist in the coordination of internal & external events
    • Assist Volunteer Coordinator in managing volunteers for preparation of Venues & Opening night
    • Manage & ensure protocol and policy as outlined by TULCA are implemented

 Venue Manager 

The role of  Venue Managers is to help the Volunteer Coordinator facilitate the organisation of Volunteers & Venues for the festival. The Venue Manager will be in charge of opening/closing venues, reporting to the Volunteer Coordinator and ensuring that the volunteers turn up on time and complete duties acquired to them. The Venue Manager will be competent to resolve any issues that arise and follow protocol as instructed by the Producer and Volunteer Coordinator.

Essential Duties:

  • Act as a Festival Ambassador and promote TULCA
  • In charge of opening/closing venues and meeting/greeting volunteers
  • Has a duty of care to the volunteers, to ensure they are enjoying participating with the festival
  • Ensure all systems of procedures are explained to the Volunteers
  • Be on call throughout the festival
  • Ensure the smooth running of the festival and their Venue
  • Reporting to the Volunteer Coordinator and ensuring that the volunteers turn up on time and complete duties acquired to them.
  • Working in conjunction with the TULCA team
  • Be knowledgeable of all the artists works and the curatorial concept of the Festival

 Communications Assistant 

Are you simply mad for Social Media, experienced in using the main platforms and want to learn more? We are seeking a dynamic, savvy communicator to join our team for the 2015 Festival to work with us in bringing our Festival to life for our audiences. Part-time August – November


As key member of the festival team, you will be working closely with the Producer and publicist ensuring that the festival’s communications strategy is carried out.

You will be responsible for implementing the festivals Social Media marketing on facebook and Twitter. Administration includes content strategy, develop brand awareness, generate inbound traffic and cultivate leads and sales. The Social Media manager is a highly motivated individual with experience and a passion for designing and implementing relevant content, blogging, community participation.

Essential Duties

  • Manage Social Media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including:
  • Curate relevant content to reach the Festivals ideal customers.
  • Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video and written).
  • Monitor, listen and respond to users in a “Social” way while cultivating leads and sales.
  • Become an advocate for the Festival in Social Media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
  • Monitor trends in Social Media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy
