Stella Rahola Matutes

Stella Rahola Matutes (Barcelona, 1980) is licensed in Architecture and Master in Architectonical Projects. She is currently undertaking an MFA at Goldsmiths University of London. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Among her solo shows, the highlights are:Shui at Chinese European Art Center, (Xiamen, China, 2013), L’altre paisatge atGaleria Carles Taché (Barcelona, Spain, 2014) or Utopias and Heterotopiasat Maverick Space (London, UK, 2018).

Her artistic career has been extensively enriched by experiences overseas, both in fellowships and residencies including:European Ceramic Workcentre (EKWC), (s’-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, 2012), CEAC (Xiamen, China, 2013 and 2016) and Seto International Glass Art Exchange Program (Aichi, Japan 2015).

Stella has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams and been commissioned for large-scale installations. These include scenography for Pau Aran’s dancer (from Pina Bausch Co.) at Iniciación a la sombra, perform concert with Sira Hernández at Conde Duque, Madrid and at Arts Santa Mònica in Barcelona. She has also collaborated with CLOUD 9 Enric Ruiz-Geli Arch creating a permanent installation at AMPO, located in Basque Country and The Cloudin Ushuaïa Club in Ibiza.

Stella has developed an academic experience teaching and writing. She is currently an invited teacher at Elisava Barcelona School of Design, and she has also collaborated at Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, Switzerland and at Architecture School of Barcelona, UPC.
